The
MD Anderson medical center is
revered as the world's leading
cancer research, diagnosis &
treatment center, and comprises
a major part of Houston's
Medical district. Expansion of
the MDA facility proceeded as a
design-build project with much
of the design & construction
completed on a fast-track
program. Triodetic was selected
to design & supply a series of
walkway canopies, admission
porticos, roof-top patient
recuperation area shade roofs,
and terrace garden decorative
structures, on the basis that
any design configuration,
structure shape & finish could
be provided at competitive price
and within the short time-frame
required. Aluminum structure
components were supplied factory
coated to the champagne color
specified & were assembled on
site. Tensile fabric for the
ground level walkway canopies
was supplied by Hendee based in
Houston. Fiberglass grating was
used for shading on the four
roof-top curved canopies.
